SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico (AP) - A woman seeking an autograph from one of Puerto Rico's most popular reggaeton performers was apparently bitten by his bodyguard, who also fired a weapon several times, a police spokeswoman said Saturday. The incident occurred early Saturday when Héctor «El Father» Delgado stopped at a gas station to buy food after playing at a private party.
When a woman insisted on having his autograph, Delgado's bodyguard grabbed her, and then fired his weapon several times in the air when the woman's husband approached them, said police spokeswoman Maria del Pilar Bon.
At one point, the bodyguard bit the woman, who left with her husband, she said. Bon said she did not know how serious the bite was.
Police are interviewing Delgado and his entourage, who fled without paying for their gas and were later detained at another gas station in western Puerto Rico, Bon said.
No one has been charged.
Delgado won a 2003 Billboard Latin Music Award for rap album of the year as part of the «Los Bambinos» duo and he has collaborated with hip-hop artist Jay-Z.
