Héctor El Father Héctor Delgado Román, known as Héctor El Father and previously known as Héctor El Bambino (born September 4, 1978 in Carolina, Puerto Rico) is a well-known Puerto Rican reggaeton artist and producer, that rose to fame as a member of the duo Héctor y Tito.

However, he has become a successful entrepreneur and producer by himself. Héctor El Father is one of the main exponents in the reggeaton genre, he could be considered the Diddy or Dr. Dre of reggeaton.

Despite his young age, Héctor has had an extensive music career. In the 1990s, he joined two friends (Rey and Voltio) to form a group and started performing. Several years later, he joined Efraín Fines (later known as Tito El Bambino) and formed the duo Héctor y Tito ("Los Bambinos").

Héctor y Tito released their first album in 1998. Together they became reggaeton stars releasing several successful albums and making appearances in several compilations, becoming one of the most sought-out duos in the genre.

Both became the first reggeaton artists to sell out a massive concert in Puerto Rico, opening the path to other artists such as Tego Calderón, Daddy Yankee, Don Omar, and Wisin & Yandel.

As a duet both captured the world's attention and made reggeaton a popular genre, won important awards such as the Latin Billboard Award and reached the top of the charts in several countries

In 2005, the duo announced their breakup, and each of them has continued with their separate careers Due to Tito's belief that Héctor wasn't loyal as a friend and a partner.

Héctor started his own label called Gold Star Music, in which artist Yomo is his right arm, dedicating most of his work to it, With his label, he has produced albums for successful artists like Don Omar, Trébol Clan and others.

His song "Sola" was the number one in the U.S. Hot Latin Tracks Chart from February 3 to February 17. Héctor, who is also Don Omar's mentor and producer, has produced a variety of artists.

In 2004 he founded his own record label Gold Star Music, and positioned his group Trébol Clan among audience's favorites with over 100 thousand copies sold of Los Bacatranes, their first album under his label.

His compilation album titled Los Anormales, released under his own label, broke all record sales in Puerto Rico when 130,000 copies were sold in just two days. This album features the most important reggaeton artists such as Daddy Yankee, Don Omar, Trébol Clan, Divino, Zion and the duo Alexis y Fido. The album has gone to sell over 200,000 units.

In February, Héctor El Bambino performed in the Canary Islands during their big Carnival festivities. His performance was a sold out success.

His song "Morena", which Héctor produced for Héctor y Tito, is one of the most air played songs in this Spanish territory.

Héctor has soon positioned himself as a solo artist. He has toured around the U.S. cities with great Hispanic concentrations such as New York, Miami, Orlando, Boston, San Diego, San Francisco, Las Vegas, Houston, San Antonio and Los Angeles.

Héctor has proven his talent for business as well, besides his record label he also owns a popular dance club in his native island of Puerto Rico.

In the middle of 2005 "El Father", as he is also now known, signed a very important agreement with hip hop super star Jay-Z. The contract will launch Héctor's career in the anglo market. Both performers will produce a compilation album under the Island Des Jam label, propriety of Jay-Z, due this year.

The album titled "Rompe Discotecas" will feature top of the line artists both from Anglo hip hop and Spanish reggaeton.

Additionally, Héctor became the Hispanic image for his clothing line Roc-A Wear. The advertising campaign including his image will be featured in TV spots, print, and billboards. The agreement also states that Roc-A Wear will sponsor Héctor's own clothing designs under the label Bambino. At the same time Héctor's designed tennis shoes will form part of the JAY Z's "S. Carter Collection" by Reebok.

Héctor is also preparing his first solo album "The Bad Boy", and as a producer he is working in the compilation album "The Godfather 2" and a new CD for Trebol Clan.

He also continued with his solo career with some of his songs ("Noche de Travesuras", "Dale Calor" and "Vamos pa la calle" among others), becoming hits in Latin America and the United States. It was at this point that he changed his nickname from Héctor El Bambino to Héctor El Father.

In September 16, 2005, he presented two sold-out concerts titled The Bad Boy in Puerto Rico with artists like Wisin & Yandel, Alexis y Fido, Trebol Clan, Fat Joe, Polaco and others.

Héctor has become one of the most successful producers, not only in the reggaeton genre, but in the Latin American music business, even working with renowned Cuban producer Emilio Estefan.

Héctor El Father has been reported to say that he plans to leave his music career to become a doctor.

The 28-year-old Puerto Rican has always dreamed of studying medicine and is determined to become a fully fledged doctor by the time he is 40. El Father intends to walk away from his singing career to study paediatrics at the Santo Domingo Medical School in the Dominican Republic. He says, "This is a goal that, believe me, I'll reach. My career is at its peak, but I've checked up a lot on this, and Santo Domingo has one of the best medical schools."

He has already started preparing for working with children, by injecting his six-year-old diabetic son Joel 'Tico’ Delgado Carrasquillo with insulin. El Father adds, "I don't have a problem with blood or needles. Tico is diabetic and I have to give him his shots, draw blood, and take care of him.

"I love kids. I have 15 nieces and nephews and I'm very patient. That's why I really like paediatrics and within five years I'm going to start studying medicine. I want to be a doctor; I want to be a paediatrician."

In the middle of 2005, Héctor signed an agreement with hip-hop artist Jay-Z to promote him in the United States. Both performers produced a compilation album under the Island Def Jam label, propriety of Jay-Z, Los Rompe Discotekas was releases June 2006. They released a hit song called "Here We Go" in 2006.

The agreement also states that Rocawear will sponsor Héctor's own clothing designs under the label Bambino. At the same time Héctor's designed tennis shoes will form part of the Jay Z's “S.
